Workshop 56
Atelier 56 is the story of two friends, Fabrice and Matéo, brought together by a shared passion for vintage furniture.
With Italian origins, one based between Copenhagen and Paris, the other in Milan, we travel together through Denmark, the rest of Europe and Italy to unearth unique pieces from the 1950s to 1960s.
Our selection draws on the best of Scandinavian, sometimes Dutch and Italian design: timeless creations, patinated by time, which tell a story.
Each one is carefully chosen, restored when necessary, as with B&O audio equipment, with respect for its soul, and offered in Paris under the name Atelier 56.
Our ambition: to share this heritage of European design through furniture, seating, lighting, vintage and fully refurbished B&O audio equipment, as well as authentic objects that span the ages and enhance today's interiors. Together, let's create your world.

Le Design danois
Le design danois incarne une vision singulière de l’objet : une alliance rare entre simplicité, fonctionnalité et beauté intemporelle. Né dans l’après-guerre, il atteint son apogée dans les années 1950, période souvent considérée comme l’âge d’or du design scandinave, autour de 1956. Des créateurs comme Hans J. Wegner, Finn Juhl ou Arne Jacobsen y développent un langage esthétique fondé sur des lignes épurées, des matériaux nobles comme le teck ou le chêne, et un profond respect de l’usage quotidien. Chaque pièce est pensée pour durer, tant par sa qualité de fabrication que par son intemporalité. S’intéresser au design danois, c’est faire le choix d’un mobilier qui traverse les époques, à la fois discret et remarquable, où chaque détail reflète un savoir-faire exceptionnel et une philosophie de vie centrée sur l’harmonie entre l’homme et son environnement.

Notre sélection puise dans le meilleur du design scandinave, parfois hollandais, allemand et italien : des créations intemporelles, patinées par le temps, qui racontent une histoire.
Chaque pièce est choisie avec exigence, restaurée lorsque c’est nécessaire, dans le respect de son âme, et proposée à Paris sous le nom d’Atelier 56.
Notre ambition : partager cet héritage de l'Age d'or du design européen, à travers des meubles, des assises, des luminaires des appareils audio Bang & Olufsen d'époque et entièrement révisés, ainsi que des objets authentiques, qui traversent les époques et subliment les intérieurs d’aujourd’hui. Authenticity
At Atelier 56, authenticity is our compass.
Every piece of furniture, every object we select, bears the marks of time and the imprint of those who crafted it. We believe that beauty lies in imperfection, in the grain of weathered wood, in gently aged leather, in the silent story a piece of furniture carries with it.
We reject the superfluous and soulless copies. Our goal is simple: to offer only authentic pieces, drawn from Scandinavian, European, and Italian design from the great decades, with their character intact and their heritage value preserved.
Atelier 56 also offers a human approach, respectful of the history of objects and know-how.
